Forums Upgraded to Version 5

Welcome to version 5 of IPS Community. I actually like this version and I haven't been able to say that in a while! Many of the features that needed third party add-ons or custom code are now built-in. The biggest one for gaming communities in particular is probably the addition of a dark theme by default. You can choose the theme or mode in the mode selection box at the bottom left of the forums. System Preference will change the mode according to your device settings.

Now the toolbar for the editor is integrated properly since I don't need custom code to offer extended editor options like creating a table. These options are available in the drop-down menu in the toolbar.

You now have a gazillion emotes and icons to choose from, in addition to our custom emotes. I just finished fixing the list so our custom emotes are displayed at the top of the list, as our superior emotes should be.

Now I can get back to working on BM and stop messing around with the forums.

l've had to revert to the IPS default white theme. Sorry about that! The dark themes are causing errors. Please use Invision white until I can rectify the situation.

Sue's Book has been Published - Must Read!

Our friend Sue has gotten her first book published! It's a collection of short stories in a variety of genres. It's based in horror, with touches of science fiction and fantasy. I have read a couple of Sue's stories and they are gripping. I'm looking forward to picking up a copy of her book.

You may know Sue as a voice actor. She has done voice acting for several mods, including Dark Brotherhood Chronicles.

You know the really funny thing about this? I weigh my cats in kilograms but myself in pounds... We have a digital meat thermometer that's stuck in Celsius so we keep having to look up the temperature for when something is done. If you say the temperature outside in Fahrenheit, I have no idea what that is.

I think they do the same thing in the UK. They sell gas in litres but highway speeds and distances are in miles. They got temperature right though: Celsius.

I'm back! At the moment these forums are dedicated to my projects. I'm not sure how things are going to proceed. We have a company that we're in the process of repurposing for mobile game development, hence the LCI Gaming part. There's nothing to show for that yet, so I've set up forums for the projects that I want to finish. At the moment that's Argonia (formerly The Black Marshes) and The Dark Brotherhood Chronicles. I've contacted some folks and they've said they will help, so that's the reason for the forums. This won't be a mirror for mod uploads. No hosted projects either. If you want to hang out and chat or just follow our progress, you're welcome to join. Please understand that's my focus at this time.

We have a download area for the projects only. We don't have a gallery, but you can link to an image or attach one to a post.

If you want to post a screenshot or video, just paste the link into the editor. It will automatically embed it. If you have the file on your computer, you can drag it into the editor and it will embed it.

There is NO BB Code! Don't try to put BB Code in your posts - the editor will not parse it. You have to use the editor toolbar buttons. If there's something you need, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Yes, I know the editor buttons are hard to see right now. I will fix that when I get a chance.

Editor Buttons

I have added a few extra editor buttons since we can't use BB code. Here's the list from left to right, starting just after the Link button:

Image - allows you to define a few extra parameters when you link to an external image.
Table (after Code button) - insert a table. Can specify number of rows and columns as well as other options.
Horizontal Line - insert a horizontal line.

Themes

There are two dark themes and one light theme. You can change the theme from the Theme dropdown button at the bottom of the forums.

The dialogue boxes for Image and Table don't display properly with a dark theme, so switch to the light theme to use them, then you can switch back afterwards.
