AndalayBay
Work continues on Nifskope and Jon has his own fork in which he's trying to fix a bunch of bugs. Nifskope 2.0 Dev
AndalayBay
I am able to confirm that this version can open old meshes. There are some original Oblivion meshes that can't be opened with Dev 7.
Arthmoor
There's an even newer branch of this available - Dev 10. https://github.com/eckserah/nifskope_updated/releases As far as my meager skills can tell it has no issues with opening stuff up. I'm not sure if it was forked from John's branch or not, but very few people seem to be aware of it.
AndalayBay
Good grief! Jon helped me with an issue I was having and told me about his fork. There was a complaint from another user about how fractured the development has become and I guess we’re seeing that here.
AndalayBay
Dev 8 and dev 10 won't load Oblivion textures. You need to enable Fallout 3 and set the paths to your Oblivion BSA's, or add the paths to the Oblivion BSA's if you have FO3. Jon says he'll fix it. I don't know if that will fix dev 10 too. They really need to merge all the forks!
Vorians
Dev 8 loads Oblivion textures fine, without any FO3 involvement. Perhaps the location of the game install is a problem, maybe it doesn't have permission to read the folder ? I have game installed to: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Oblivion\
AndalayBay
No, it's a specific instance that seems to affect a large number of meshes in Argonia since most of our stuff is retextured original game meshes. Here's the issue. I wasn't the one to report it, I just had the same problem as the OP.
