To quote Dubious from the old Bethesda forums: On 6/27/2015 at 4:00 PM, Dubiousness said: A "black surface" in a normal texture is an indicator of a missing "normal map" (*_n.dds) file. The equivalent for LOD terrain is a "*_fn.dds" file. Far objects use a "*_far.nif" file.
